Fort Calhoun nuclear power plant ready to restart

Good news, Omaha: the Fort Calhoun nuclear power station says it is ready to restart and operate safely.
The Omaha Public Power District says the Fort Calhoun nuclear power plant, idle since April 2011, is now ready to restart, but federal regulators will make the final decision.
OPPD submitted a 139-page report to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission this week making the case that the Fort Calhoun plant is ready. An NRC spokeswoman said regulators are still reviewing the latest repairs.
No point in looking in the rear view mirror---the safety violations, fire, and flooding are behind it now.
